Executive Director – Garry Mosier
Garry has been Executive Director since 1987. He earned his undergraduate degree in Social Work from Wright State University and his Masters of Public Administration from Ball State University. Garry’s responsibilities include planning, organizing, directing and leading all aspects of our organization. During his time as Executive Director, MRSI has grown from providing services to eight consumers in Mercer County to serving over 44 consumers in Mercer, Auglaize and Van Wert counties. Garry was also instrumental in becoming the designated housing agency of the Tri-County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services. Through this affiliation with the Tri-County Board, we received grants from the Ohio Department of Mental Health to build and manage 24 apartment units for individuals with mental health disorders. Finance Coordinator – Melanie Shindeldecker
Melanie has been employed with MRSI since 1993. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Business Management from Defiance College. Melanie is responsible for all fiscal functions of the agency including budget forecasting and analysis, monthly financial reports, and the day to day accounting responsibilities including accounts payables, receivables and payroll. Melanie is current Vice-President of the Parkway Music Boosters and spends her free time shuttling her two teenagers to their activities. Melanie can be emailed at mshindeldecker@mrsinc.org.
Area Coordinator – Janelle Wehrman
Janelle is a Licensed Social Worker, earning her Bachelor’s Degree from Wright State University. Janelle began her employment with MRSI in 2000. As Area Coordinator, Janelle is responsible for our Van Wert County Division, which includes the Thomas Edison Group Home and Van Wert County Supported Living. She is primarily responsible for implementing and monitoring active treatment and informal training as specified by the Consumers’ IPP goals and objectives for over 20 consumers. Janelle was instrumental in receiving a perfect licensure survey for the Thomas Edison Group Home, resulting in a three year license. Program Coordinator – Terry Brandon
Terry is responsible for implementing and monitoring active treatment and informal training for consumers residing at the Mud Pike Group Home and for our Mercer County Supported Living consumers. He is also responsible for creating, updating and maintaining employee training. Terry earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Manchester College and his Masters of Special Education in Multi Handicap and Orthopedic Handicap from Kent State University. Terry has been employed with MRSI since 1990. Terry is active in the Ohio Provider Resource Association - Program Directors Group, MUI Work Group and is a 14 year certified CPR and First Aid instructor for the American Red Cross. Community Support Coordinator of Van Wert County – Leasha Doner
Leasha is the newest member of our Administrative staff. Leasha is a former Habilitation Aide at the Thomas Edison Group Home and advanced into a supervisory position in June of this year. She interviews, hires, schedules and evaluates the direct support staff associated with our Van Wert Supported Living program. Leasha can be reached at ldoner@mrsinc.org.
Housing Coordinator – Pam Oechsle
Pam has been a joint employee of MRSI and the Tri-County Board since 2002. Pam is the Director of the Challenged Higher Club House (Drop in Center) located in Van Wert. Since Pam became director, the Drop in Center’s average attendance has dramatically increased. She is responsible for developing programs and activities for members of NAMI (National Association for the Mentally Ill) Pam assists the tenants in our Housing Division with obtaining Section 8 housing vouchers and maintaining their eligibility for low income housing. She is responsible for inspecting all MRSI owned property to ensure our apartment units are well maintained and that they continue to meet health and safety standards. Mercer County Health Services Coordinator – Wanda Fields
Wanda received her nursing degree from Edison State Community College and has been employed with MRSI since 1996. Wanda is responsible for consumer’s medical plan of care for our Mud Pike Group Home and Mercer County Supported Living consumers. Wanda develops and monitors all health care programs including communicable disease and infection control. She teaches Delegated Nursing and medical training for staff in-services. Van Wert County Health Services Coordinator – Shannon Heindel
Shannon received her nursing degree from Lima Technical College and has been employed with MRSI since 2000. Shannon works with our Van Wert County Division coordinating and supervising the medical plan of care for our Van Wert consumers. Shannon develops and monitors all health care programs including communicable disease and infection control.
